Time for Spring Bling

Renew your home's ambiance with a lighting update

Spring is a time of growth and renewal in nature. It’s also a good time to revive manmade surroundings with a lighting update. Whether you are looking to bring your outdoor living areas out of the dark or add some spring bling to indoor spaces, there are plenty of options available.

Lighting is essential for safety and enjoyment. Tasks are easier and more productive when properly lit. And with the right lighting, you can create a fresh, inviting atmosphere in any space.

When it comes to choosing the right fixtures, there are plenty of trends to consider. Natural materials like rattan, wood, and stone are popular choices, as well as fixtures inspired by art and fashion.

If the choices seem overwhelming or you would like expert advice, the American Lighting Association (ALA) has the resources to guide you throughout your lighting update process. The best selection and guidance is close by at an ALA-member showroom. That's where you will find a variety of styles, colors, and finishes to complement any space, lifestyle, and budget.

Bye-bye winter doldrums; it’s glow time.

Ready to enjoy your outdoor space again? When preparing your outdoor living area for relaxing and entertaining, don’t forget to check the lighting for proper illumination as well as to highlight dark paths or steps and flower beds. Every space, large or small, will be most enjoyable when properly lit.

Current exterior lighting options go way beyond inflexible, old-style lighting. Dimmers and color-changing LEDs have a place in the elements too. Consider uplighting pathways with LED strips and spotlighting special landscaping or architectural elements. Outdoor illumination does not need to be strictly functional. Decorative sconces and pendants or chandeliers installed in patio areas are more popular than ever. Just be sure your outdoor lighting is wet rated for safety and to maintain its eye-catching appeal.
