The key to your dream home

All the light stuff for all the right places

Lighting is the key to creating spaces to love. It can bring energy to a room or instill a sense of calm. For a look at the latest trends for creating your dream home, check out a new video from the American Lighting Association.

Starting with home exteriors, today's most popular lighting designs incorporate safety as well as style, and feature weathered finishes, wrought iron, ribbed glass, and brass accents. From the front porch to the back fence, outdoor lighting illuminates pathways, improves security, highlights architectural features, and establishes a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Inside, modern fixtures rooted in midcentury and industrial design utilize LED technology and mixed metals to create lighting that doubles as artwork. Sculptural pendants and chandeliers on nearly invisible cables appear to float in midair.

Rustic finishes are comforting and familiar. Woven fibers, natural wood, and dark metals in handcrafted designs are inspired by classic farmhouses, lake houses, and cabins.

Smart lighting technology enables a customized lighting experience with the ability to dim the lights with the click of an app, turn on the ceiling fan with a voice command, or adjust the color temperature of smart bulbs depending on the need.
