As a new year begins, we also see an emergence of new design trends. Hear from some of the lighting industry's top designers and manufacturers as they share their thoughts on the latest trends in lighting that are set to take center stage in 2020:

"You know that saying, more is more? Well, overdone anything is done. Over-embellished lighting designs were left behind in 2019! In 2020, we will continue to see an increase in clean lines in design, incorporating mixed metallics and bold colors."
--Tim Stumm, Z-Lite

"I think globe lighting is going strong, and I see it  continuing for some time into the future. The market is flooded with globe lights right now!"

"Moving forward, I think we will continue to see black emerge as a popular finish in lighting. It plays well in all sorts of looks that are resonating with various design styles, from modern farmhouse to sleek and chic, to even clean transitional. Another popular design element is colored glass pendant fixtures. We are seeing smoke, slate gray glass with blueish undertones that can work with many different design schemes.

"Consumers are using large-scale, dramatic lighting fixtures to not just provide light, but also add a rockstar design element in a room!"
