Not sure how to define your style? Don’t fret. These days it’s perfectly acceptable to ditch pre-defined style lables and show off your unique taste. Start by choosing a light fixture you like, and with the help of a lighting professional at an ALA-member showroom, find complementary fixtures as well as new ways to arrange and install your fixtures to truly create your one-of-a kind home.
Curation
Lights are being used in exciting new ways, and a beautifully decorated room does not mean everything must match. Curating or mixing light fixture finishes or styles can create drama and charm. As homeowners have become more sophisticated and saavy, they are gaining the confidence to branch out and select different decorative elements that complement each other.
Versatility
Many of today's light fixtures lend themselves to various types of installation. Some fixtures have multiple lights that can hang clustered together or, with the addition of a support frame, can be spread out in a more traditional chandelier fashion. Pendants can be grouped in a number of ways without requiring multiple holes in the ceiling by using a canopy accessory that attaches to a single electrical box.
